Pension am Hauptbahnhof

The location was all right, except for a street gang hanging around at the entrance the whole time. The staff, the woman living there, the host, and the hotel were the worst I've seen. They were unfriendly and treated guests as if they owed them something. It was very dirty, full of mice, uncomfortable, and poorly organized, with a horrible room design. I wouldn't recommend staying there, even for one night. Overall, 1/10 ❤️.

As a solo woman traveler, I felt extremely unsafe and uncomfortable when I realized the hotel was in a red-light district. That information wasn't mentioned in the listing. I decided not to stay, left immediately, and returned the keys. It was a very disappointing experience, and I don't recommend it to other women traveling alone.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the location is convenient for Oktoberfest and the Train Station. The surrounding area felt a little sketchy, though, with bars and strip clubs across the street. Our room was okay and clean enough for two nights, but the shared bathrooms, both toilet and shower, were gross. The shower curtain badly needed replacing, and almost every time I went to use the toilet, the person before me hadn't flushed.

The room was clean, and mine had its own shower, though the toilet was shared, with one per floor. I stayed for 3 nights and had a good experience, but there are a few things to know before booking. The street is very loud, with cars and people yelling until 3am. There’s no AC, so I had to open the windows for air, which let in the noise and cigarette smoke. I asked for a fan and then closed the windows, which helped. They don't accept credit cards, so bring cash. There are several ATM outside the hostel. If you want the cheapest place and don't mind street noise, it could work. If you're a light sleeper or want somewhere quiet, this isn't the place for you. I'd strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
