There’s also a parking garage. I had a cozy little room with a modern, renovated bathroom, and the room itself was modern and clean too. The service was very nice. It’s a historic hotel near the station, and I’d recommend it and stay again if I’m in the area.

On my trip from the Danube Delta in Romania to the UK, this was one of many stops and the worst stay of them all. The website said the room was 18 square meters, but it felt much smaller, more like 10 square meters or less. The area was noisy, the pillows were uncomfortable, and there was no air conditioning. The bathroom fan was very loud and kept running for about 20-30 minutes after I turned off the light. I had to leave early to reach the Eurotunnel on time. I told reception at check-in, and they assured me it would be fine. But when I went there around 5:00-5:10 a.m., nobody was there. I waited until 5:45 a.m., with no staff on site. That seemed highly unusual and made me wonder what the procedure would be in an emergency. In the end, I left the key at reception with a note. It was a terrible experience. I won’t stay here again and don’t recommend it.

The double room was cozy and had a very nice design, and the staff were friendly and polite. The bed was two single beds that weren’t pushed together, though, and I almost fell into the gap more than once during the night. I’d suggest the room, but I expected a better rate for staying several days, and that didn’t happen.

There’s a fridge in the standard room, and a supermarket and bakery nearby. The bathroom ventilation keeps running for a long time after the light is off, which is annoying when you’re trying to sleep. I didn’t have breakfast, so I can’t comment on it.
