Hotel BEER Gesundheit

The location was lovely, with a nearby park for walks, beautiful scenery, plenty of restaurants, and shops within easy reach. We also liked the lobby Wi-Fi, the inviting-looking restaurant, the fitness room, and the other amenities, although we didn’t use the hotel much beyond that. We stayed July 20th to 22nd, 2018, with my partner, my brother-in-law, his wife, and their one-year-old. It was easy to park our two motorcycles and car in the hotel lot. We felt at ease as soon as we arrived: the receptionist gave us a warm welcome and explained the layout and how things worked. She was incredibly kind, and the staff stayed friendly and helpful even after we made several requests. Our rooms were comfortable for sleeping, keeping clothes in the closets, and freshening up in the bathroom. Some had a nice balcony. Breakfast had lots of variety, with something for everyone, and the staff tried their best to make it just right for us. The pool and sauna were clean, warm, and cozy, and we had a lot of fun using them. When someone got hurt at the hotel, they were helped and treated straight away so they could carry on enjoying the stay. All of us were very satisfied. The place was clean, welcoming, friendly, and relaxing, and we can highly recommend it. We’ll definitely come back.

For a single night, the hotel is perfectly fine, and the man at reception is really nice and helpful. Breakfast was okay, but the older woman at the food counter was so rude. It isn’t clear if you’re meant to serve yourself, and when you do, she snaps at you. It puts you off eating, and she even talks about you behind your back. Best to avoid her.

The bathroom was clean, but I can’t recommend staying here unless your boss makes you, as mine did for a trade fair. The room was noisy, the towels were stiff and old, and the breakfast was just okay. Wi-Fi only worked now and then near reception. Room service was sporadic, the trash wasn’t emptied, and empty cups stayed in the room for days. The blackout curtains only partly worked. This “hotel” has definitely seen better days. The furnishings and even the staff seem stuck in the last century.

For one night it was okay, but I wouldn’t stay longer, especially for €79/night. The basics are there, breakfast is fine, and the staff are very friendly. My concern is the dated room and its hygiene: there was an old, rather unhygienic carpet, stained bed linens, and a TV that flickered on every channel.
