We had a large room with a lovely wraparound balcony, though the bathroom was very small, even if functional. Breakfast was plentiful and you choose what you want the night before. The food was great. The hotel is very close to beautiful Lake Tegernsee, and the staff were really friendly. They speak enough English to make things easy. The decor is tastefully done, with dark walls and paintings, but it does leave the place feeling rather gloomy. Give it a go!

Breakfast deserves a special mention, and the staff were very kind. I loved the Askania Hotel’s location and the old wooden mountain-house style, which keeps its charm. My room could use a bit of updating, mostly the bathroom. I’d definitely recommend it for a cozy stay at Tegernsee.

I’d happily come back to this small, family-run hotel. The staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome. My room was clean and spacious, with a small balcony overlooking Tegernsee and the surrounding mountains. I had breakfast and dinner included, and both meals were excellent and generous.

We’d like to return soon. The room was clean and spacious, with a good shower, and breakfast was decent. The staff were friendly and took good care of us. It’s a nice place for a few nights. Dinner is only available if it’s part of your booking or package, but there are several places to eat nearby, so that wasn’t a problem.
