Apartment-Hotel Hamburg Mitte

Our room was cozy, and the hotel was somewhat close to the city centre, but the receptionist's attitude was disgusting. Other people praise the staff, but that wasn't our experience. The lady at reception basically threw the check-in forms at us and answered every question arrogantly. When we asked for another parking spot because we couldn't fit in the one we'd been given, she looked at us as if we'd cursed her entire bloodline and treated us that way. It's sad that one staff member can ruin the impression of the whole hotel.

The room was large and clean, with a kitchen that had all the things we needed. There were plenty of power sockets in sensible places, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There's a bus stop nearby, but no nearby ticket machine unless you walk to the closest U-Bahn station.

The room worked well for our family of four, and breakfast was good. Parking under the hotel was convenient, though it cost €12 per night. The pillows were awful and made it hard to sleep. The area was OK, but there are some ladies touting for business nearby, so I wouldn't advise walking. We had dinner there once: the food was nice, but service was unbelievably slow. We couldn't get a second drink and skipped dessert because the waiter seemed to spend all his time in the kitchen.

Getting into town was easy, with frequent buses from the area, and the self-service check-in worked well for us. The room was lovely, with comfortable beds, modern decor, a kitchen that worked properly, and a nice bathroom. You could hear things a little too clearly when the other person used the bathroom, but we didn't notice much noise from outside or the neighbours. The bar was nice, though it seemed short staffed at times, with one person handling orders, food, and drinks. The neighbourhood mixes industrial buildings with regular apartments and doesn't have many restaurants. There's a small convenience store and bakery nearby, but I'd buy groceries in town. I'd definitely stay again.
