Hotel Fame am Hauptbahnhof

The room was dirty and full of bed bugs, and my wife was bitten more than 50 times. I can’t understand how this place passes Germany’s hygiene standards. If it were in my country, it would have been closed long ago. The area and hotel aren’t family friendly, and the hotel next door is just a junkie hotel. If you care about yourselves at all, I’d strongly advise against booking here. This place isn’t even worth zero stars.

I asked them to move my dates two months before the original booking, but they never responded. When I later found a new slot, they invented a rule to turn down the request. The worst hotel I’ve ever dealt with, and the communication was terrible.

For a basic place in a central location, it’s a reasonable choice for one night. The room was quiet, fairly well equipped, and everything worked. I’ve paid more for much worse places, even though I know most reviews say negative things.

The bed bugs were everywhere, and the next day I had bites on both arms and my left leg. I asked to change rooms and was moved to another room in the hotel next door, where I’d had to check in in the first place. I couldn’t sleep there because people came back in the middle of the night, shouting and stumbling around. At check-in, the staff gave me no information about the facilities, including where the shared bathroom was, and I had to go next door to check in.
