No lift, and the stairs are a bit of a maze 😁. Right next to metrostation st.pauli. Service and breakfast were great, the beds were good, and the place was clean and fun. Recommended! If you skip daily cleaning, they offer a free beer or soda ☺️.

Everything was extremely clean, the room, bathroom, and bed. I could lock the door from inside, and the room temperature was just right in the snowy weather. The front desk was really nice too. I'm excited to stay here and would give it 10/10. Highly recommend!

Traveling alone, I found this really convenient. The staff were friendly and let me leave my luggage there, and my room and shower were clean with fresh towels.

This is a small hostel, and the beds are pretty good. The private bathroom was very clean, and the towels and sheets were okay, though they didn’t smell fresh. Our family room had a TV and fan but no air conditioning, and we slept badly between the heat, street and neighbor noise, and cigarette smoke from nearby bars. The area has lots of sex shops and strip clubs, which wasn’t pleasant with children, along with many homeless people and a terrible smell. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, especially with kids or elderly people. The Booking.com description gives a misleading picture of the actual conditions.

There’s no elevator, and getting to reception means taking the stairs from street level. The rooms are spread across several levels, reached through stairwells at the back because two buildings have been combined. I’m fine with that and think it adds to the charm, but you do need to be able to manage the stairs. The place is very clean, with practical, modern rustic furniture, clean bathrooms, nice towels, shower gel, shampoo and hand soap. The beds are comfortable, the sheets are nice, and the WiFi works well. You can log into Netflix on the smart TV. The breakfast buffet looked and smelled good, with plenty of choice, though I’ve never tried it. The dining room and reception area are bright and airy, good for working remotely, and there’s a well stocked fridge at reception since there’s no bar. The public areas are nice for sitting with a drink and chatting in the evening, and in summer there’s a small terrace in the backyard. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. I’ve stayed several times with my son and with a friend, partly because the rates are good for a big city like Hamburg. As a native Hamburger, I used to hang out at the clubs here in the 80s, so I feel at home. Despite the hostel name, it’s a lot better than some places I’ve stayed around Europe, and it’s a fun place. You need to be comfortable with the neighborhood: it’s right in the red light district, with the entrance between a bar and a sex shop, and you may see the occasional homeless person. I’ve found it safe, and it’s an easy walk to the town center, St. Pauli football stadium, the fair grounds, Landungsbrücken and congress center. The Michael Jackson musical is across the street, along with variety shows, cool bars and a couple of clubs. Hooters, which has the best wings in town, is at the far end of the strip, and Cuneo, Germany’s oldest and first Italian restaurant, is a five minute walk away.
