We hardly spent time in the room, and it was comfortable enough, but a few details let it down. The carpet had a strong new-carpet smell, the towel warmer didn’t work (maybe user error?), and the shower needed a deep clean. Breakfast was a real highlight, with an impressive range and quality, and the pool and sauna were great too. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the hotel had a pleasantly homey feel. Its location was good as well. I’d give the room itself three stars, but the food and service get five.

The rooms were nicely sized, with traditional furniture. Breakfast was a high quality buffet with plenty to choose from. Even with the restaurant full, the head waiter was very kind and attentive to guests.

The staff were all dressed in traditional Bavarian clothing, which suited the hotel's atmosphere in a town built around wellness. There’s a heated indoor pool and sauna, and the city attractions are close by.

Some rooms have been partly renovated, while others still have the look of the 60s. The double economy rooms are far too small, about the size of a standard single room at a Motel One. There’s no fitness room, despite it being advertised.
