Villa am Kurpark

Attention...new owner (July 2016). I used to stay here and was treated politely and courteously throughout, from booking to departure. The location was great, and the hotel was perfectly fine. My room, bed, and shower were clean. The style had some older charm without feeling unpleasantly old or run-down. I didn’t have breakfast, so I can’t comment on it. On my latest booking, though, the phone greeting was a curt, annoyed “Hello,” and I had to check I’d called the right number. They couldn’t tell me straight away if a room was available, but did call back promptly. No price was given with the reservation. When I asked, the quote was higher than booking online, even with breakfast included. I didn’t need breakfast, so I asked if its cost could be taken off. The new owner insisted on the higher original price and said he didn’t care what prices were available online, wasn’t at a fair, and that I should find another hotel. So I did. The Villa am Kurpark is off my list now. We’ll have to see if the new owner lives up to the hotel’s excellent reviews.
