Explorer Hotel Garmisch

We came for hiking, and it was easy to walk to dinner both at the hotel and at places nearby. The other guests seemed to share our love of the outdoors, and the atmosphere was relaxed and respectful. We stayed five nights and loved the breakfast, especially making our own eggs and pancakes and finding something new to try each day. Everything was clean and well organized. Our window seat gave us gorgeous views, though we didn't have a balcony. It was our first Explorer hotel stay, and we want to try other locations. We'd come back.

Five days at the explorer hotel in Garmisch, with excellent service, good food, and a great location. We’d love to visit again.

For sport trips with friends, this hotel is a great fit. The location works well, parking is very cheap, and there's a room with lockers for skis or bikes. You can charge an e-bike there if needed. A couple of things bothered me. The room doors are incredibly loud, and closing one makes the walls vibrate, probably because they close automatically for fire prevention. Breakfast is mostly great, though you have to fry your own eggs or bacon. Lunch and dinner are only pre-cooked, which feels like a lot for the price.

We were here for a team event, and everyone was very happy with the stay. The new hotel is spotless, and the staff are helpful and easy to talk to. There was a good range of healthy breakfast options, all fresh and tasty, plus a DIY omelette station. I liked the coffee, too. The sauna was nice and had infusion. Sabine at the bar was especially professional, welcoming, and friendly.
