Hotel Fresena

The prawn night is a real highlight, but you need to reserve. The food and service are excellent, and there's a play area and lots of high chairs. The staff are especially good with children. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

What a great breakfast buffet. Everything was labeled, and all drinks were included, with several kinds of coffee beyond just filter coffee, plus specialty shots such as ginger and other liqueurs. As the buffet wound down, someone even checked at our table whether we wanted any dishes that had run out brought back. That was a welcome change from places that stop replenishing things at the end to hurry guests along.

The owners are warm and very friendly, and the restaurant serves delicious food. The Gamba Evening is worth trying even if you're not staying at the hotel, but make sure to book well ahead. Highly recommended.

Room ten had a nice, large balcony, though a windbreak would have made it better. The room itself felt dated and the bathroom was very small. Wi-Fi was poor, and when we brought it up, there didn't seem to be any intention of improving it. Everyone was friendly and breakfast was good, and there was a nice prawn dinner once a week, but no other dinner service and the bar was closed. We stayed nine days in early September 2025. At €200 a night, this hotel is far too expensive compared with others on Baltrum.
