The balcony had a fantastic view, and the apartment suite was clean and spacious, though simply furnished. The location near the train station worked well for us since we arrived by train. Staff were very friendly and glad to help when we ran into a few issues. We found the mattresses and pillows much too soft, though. Breakfast was very plain, so I’d suggest eating elsewhere. Still, it was good value for money.

Swen made a real difference to my stay with his warmth, local knowledge, and personal attention. He went out of his way to make sure everything was right, and I felt looked after like family. The whole team was friendly, attentive, and eager to help from the moment I arrived. Hotel National is clean and charming, with a great location. I had a fantastic stay in Bamberg and can’t wait to return.

We were surprised by how quiet the hotel was despite being close to the train station. Our family of four came to Bamberg to visit relatives, and the location was perfect. The two-story quad room was brand new and very comfortable, with a balcony where we watched the sun set over beautiful homes. Breakfast offered lots of tasty choices in a pleasant atmosphere, and every staff member we met was friendly and helpful. We were so happy with our stay at Hotel National and highly recommend it.

The hotel is a lovely historic place, close to both the train station and old town, and the price was low. The staff were friendly, but breakfast was fairly basic with only a few choices. Our two rooms had no air conditioning or mini fridge, and sadly there was no hot water in either one.

We appreciated the friendly receptionist when we arrived late, and the private parking was very convenient for our family, including our three kids. But it was hard to rest with so much noise: passing cars and loud people outside meant we had to keep the windows shut at night, and we could hear a lot through the thin walls from neighboring rooms. The staff and parking were great, but the noise made for a difficult night.
