Altstadt Apartment

For the price, I was very happy with the stay. The room was clean and basic, with all the essentials, though the bed could have been more comfortable. It takes about 25 minutes to walk from the station, so it’s not the closest option for public transport. Still, it’s handy for exploring the old town and there are plenty of restaurants nearby.

The staff were friendly, the breakfast was excellent, and the beds were comfortable. It’s good value and within easy walking distance of the Dom and old town. The hotel is in a very old building, though it has been refurbished inside with a modern feel. My room was spacious, but storage was sparse: there was nowhere to put a suitcase or glasses, no coat hooks, and few power points. The large bathroom had nowhere for toiletries or towels, and the shower had no place for anything except the floor. We got one towel each, one toilet roll, a few small shampoo items and a little bar of soap. There is a small elevator, though the entrance is very cramped.

The room was so comfortable I ended up running late for breakfast. There weren’t many choices, but what was there was fresh and tasty, and the juice glasses were a normal size. Breakfast was worth every penny, and the stay wasn’t expensive. Check-in closes at 7 pm, so arrive on time or call ahead. I only stayed one night and wished I could have stayed longer. The historic building is beautifully kept, with a small modern touch that still leaves its vintage character intact. My room was clean and very quiet, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was nice, and the towels were fluffy. The staff were friendly, and I liked the place so much that it made the next day better. There really wasn’t anything I disliked.
