The hostess was friendly, and the apartment was clean, which rounded out a lovely weekend for the two of us in the smaller unit. It has a charming feel and lots of thoughtful details. There was milk, coffee, water, and other things for an easy stay, plus a few bathroom items in case you'd forgotten something. The imposing church and romantic steps leading straight to the cathedral make the setting especially impressive. We'd love to come back.

The location is fantastic, and having welcome drinks plus drinks available for purchase is a great idea. We had a long weekend here, and the spacious apartment had what we needed for a short or longer visit. A few things to know: the mattress could probably use replacing soon, and very tall people may bump their heads. In summer, an open bedroom window may let in noise from the pedestrian alley next door, though that's hardly the landlord's fault.

The Dorn family made us feel very welcome, and Tante Emma is in a perfect spot, just a short walk from the town center, bakery, restaurants, and breweries. It's a unique apartment, furnished with care, and has everything you need. I'd stay here again when visiting Bamberg.

The bed got a bit too soft for me after a while, but everything else made for a great stay, especially at this price. The old town and cathedral are about a five-minute walk away, and the beer gardens are just up the hill. Towels, a hairdryer, tea, and the other essentials are there, with complimentary beer for guests and more beer and water in the hallway for a small charge. Key pickup was easy, and we found free parking on a side street. Highly recommended.
