Ferienhaus Schmied

The house was clean inside and out, even behind it. The garden was a highlight, with flowers, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and a few small fruit trees. We watered the plants carefully during our week-long family stay in August 2020. The playground next door was brand new and had plenty for kids aged 2-12. A few local children sometimes came by in the evening, but otherwise it felt almost private. The terrace at the front was easy to use because Ulmenweg is so quiet. We ate breakfast outside and nobody walked past. Behind the house there’s a field, and about 150 meters away you can see and hear some cowsheds, which gives the place a bit of a village feel. We found the field view relaxing. With the windows open, the church bell took a few nights to get used to: it rings through the night, with three bright tones and eleven dark ones at 11:45 p.m. For balance, the fly screens could use an overhaul in 2021, and the shower temperature kept changing from cold to hot and back again. Still, a clear thumbs up for a peaceful vacation.

The house was a dream, just like the pictures, maybe even better. My wife and I stayed for about two months while I was with my company, and enjoyed every second. Since she was pregnant, the Schmied family even did a full cleaning twice. They made things easier for us in every way and responded right away whenever we had a question. We can’t put into words how satisfied we were. Better than any hotel. Thanks again to the wonderful hosts, and for the lovely gift at the end of our stay.

The spacious rooms are tastefully furnished, and the house has Wi-Fi, a wood-burning stove and a terrace overlooking a lovely garden. It’s a modern, new holiday home in a quiet location, just right for relaxing. I’d be glad to come back :)
