The two U-Bahn stations are both about a five-minute walk away, so getting around was easy. That was the highlight. The room was the usual compact, functional Ibis Budget setup, with the sink in the bedroom area and separate small shower and toilet cubicles. Towels were changed daily, which I appreciated. Breakfast was the biggest letdown. For €11.50, the choice was just different breads, one kind of sliced cheese, and two kinds of ham. The small dining area crowded up quickly, and I’d honestly suggest getting something from the petrol station next door for half the price. I’ve had much better breakfasts at other Ibis hotels. The staff didn’t seem very welcoming, and smiles were rare. Reception closes at 10 p.m.; after that, you need a keycode, but nobody told me at check-in, which caused confusion late at night. A little more communication would have helped.

Everything was in really poor shape. The walls were stained, including brown marks on the bathroom wall that I’d rather not think about. The mattress felt so old it sank when I lay down, and the sheets had holes.

We stayed with a large group of students, and the hotel was well organised and accommodating. It was clean, the staff were really friendly and helpful, and breakfast had something even the pickiest student could eat.

A cheap place to sleep, but don’t buy breakfast! It’ll probably be the most expensive sandwich of your life. At least there’s an ARAL petrol station just outside the entrance, open 24 hours.

Like other ibis budget hotels, this one is compact and clean, and the price is reasonable. It’s on a busy road, so opening the window brings in a lot of noise. Otherwise, no issues. The receptionists speak good English, which made things easy for me since I don’t know German. Breakfast is available for an extra charge, but I didn’t try it, so I can’t say how it was. I’d recommend the hotel for a reasonably priced stay.
