Regenhütte is very quiet, and from there it’s a quick drive to Zwiesel, Bodenmais, or the Czech border crossing at Bayerisch Eisenstein. For hiking, you can walk to Grosser Arbersee, Grosser and Kleiner Arber, and the Falkenstein Mountains. I had a basic but adequate room with a double bed, sink, table and chairs, wardrobe, and access to the terrace. Breakfast was simple, with rolls, sausage or cheese, eggs, and coffee or tea. The host was extremely friendly and accommodating. If you want a quiet place with good value away from the area's usual tourist spots, this guesthouse is a great choice.

Quiet spot in a beautiful setting, at a fair price. The accommodation is lovely, the hostess very friendly, and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend it!

The rooms are simple and don't have private showers, but that wasn't an issue for us. There's a nice terrace, breakfast was OK, and the value for money is very good.
