There was hair on the bed sheets, unfortunately, and the hotel staff were extremely rude.

We’ve held our educational retreats at Bayerisch Häusl for two years now, and we’re coming back next year. The location is hard to beat, with great surroundings to explore. The owner responds to requests and feedback and is extremely accommodating. The house is a bit dated, but that gives it a charm of its own. It’s well equipped and has everything you need to cater for yourself.

The holiday home is well equipped throughout. Room 11 has a fantastic view of Großer Arber.

There’s plenty of parking right at the house, and the balcony looks out over breathtaking Bavarian countryside. Lots of hiking trails, restaurants, and leisure activities are nearby. I spent a week at the self-catering Bayrisch Häusl, but the place has clearly seen better days. Some parts look as though the owner has simply abandoned them. Cleanliness overall was poor, as others have mentioned. The kitchen was only moderately hygienic, the refrigerators were dirty, some appliances didn’t work, and things felt wobbly, with many handles loose or broken. There was one small coffee maker and one dirty coffee machine for the whole house. Some hallway lights didn’t work, and most rooms had dead batteries in the TV remotes. I was especially concerned that some rooms lacked smoke detectors, and the detector in my room, No. 4, didn’t work either. The bathroom faucet had no aerator and had noticeable biofilm on it. There was also a sticky black substance in the doorway between the room and toilet. It’s a real shame, because the property has so much potential.
