Bäckeralm

Michael made everything easy to communicate and arrange, and he was a super friendly host. We stopped at this lovely guesthouse on our way home from South Tyrol. The three of us had a very spacious family room with good Wi-Fi, then a delicious handmade breakfast in the morning. Thank you for such a warm experience.

Michael is a wonderful host, and we’d love to come back to the Bäckeralm. We spent two lovely days in Bayerischzell. The alpine hut is rustic, cozy, and thoughtfully furnished, right beside the cross-country ski track with a breathtaking winter panorama. The Sudelfeld ski area is only a few kilometers away. Breakfast was fantastic, and the food was excellent, especially the heavenly Kaiserschmarrn.

I felt very comfortable at the Bäckeralm, and it’s on my list for future trips. The house is surrounded by greenery in a great location on the Via Alpina, with beautiful rooms. I hiked alone from Kiefersfelden to Tegernsee through the Mangfall Mountains and stayed overnight here. It’s really a fully equipped restaurant with a few guest rooms, and the whole house can be rented for larger groups with catering facilities. Since I had brought some food, Michael brought a beer up from the cellar, and I sat alone in the dining room beneath the deer antlers with the whole house to myself. What a wonderful atmosphere. In the morning, breakfast exceeded all expectations. If you need dinner, Michael can arrange it. I hope he gets a restaurant license so he can host guests again.

We had a fantastic birthday celebration at the Bäckeralm with a group of 20. The entire house was ours, and the cozy, lovely rooms suited our group perfectly. Because it’s a self-catering house, we could plan everything flexibly around what we wanted. Even our most discerning guests were delighted. Michael was friendly, laid-back, and accommodating throughout, simply perfect. Highly recommended, and we’d love to return. Thanks again to Michael from Dana and family.
