Landhotel Gustav

The restaurant’s regional dishes were excellent. We were there during asparagus season and tried two different meals, both very good. The hotel has its charm, and the nearby woods are great for walking the dog. The Tesla charging station is large, and you can have coffee at the hotel while the car charges. Our stay itself had problems, though: the room was tiny and the floor wasn’t clean, and the concierge ignored me for nearly five minutes when we arrived. The staff need to improve their attitude and cleaning. The room cost about 30% too much for what we got. We stayed one night with our dog.

Breakfast was good, with both British and continental options, and we slept well in the quiet countryside. But this won’t become one of our regular places to stay. The room felt tired, the carpet by the WC was very worn, the paintwork was badly done, and it hadn’t been cleaned properly. We’d asked for two single beds but got one double. At reception, the man forgot to welcome us, mechanically told us where the room was and when breakfast was served, then disappeared.

We only went for lunch and didn’t stay at the hotel, so I can only speak to the ground-floor restaurant. The food was well seasoned and balanced, and the waitress was extremely kind and attentive. There isn’t much restaurant competition in Beelitz, but we were impressed with both the meal and the service.

The surroundings are pleasant, and the place is a little off to the side, so it was quiet. The staff were friendly and attentive. Room 7 was otherwise okay, and the paintings on the wall were quite interesting ;-). I only stayed one night, though, and the room was in mediocre shape and hadn’t been properly cleaned after the previous guest. There was no ceiling light, just a floor lamp.
