Apartment 3 has become our home away from home in Germany. We first stayed in 2023, then returned twice in September and October 2025. This time, we remembered to take photos! The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, a roomy living and dining area, and a bathroom, with the bedroom one level up. Its sunny west-facing balcony looks out over the neighboring gardens. The location is handy for the train station, restaurants, a supermarket, and a bakery, plus the in-house butcher shop sells German and Franconian sausages, meat, and cold cuts. It’s a great base for exploring Nuernberg and the countryside nearby. We’ll definitely come back whenever we’re in the Nuremberg area.

There’s plenty nearby, including a butcher shop, bakery, restaurant, and places to shop. The bathrooms, towels, and bed linens were clean, and at first the apartment seemed nice. But looking more closely, cleanliness was a real issue. The bedrooms were very dusty, with dust motes falling out, and the kitchen wasn’t clean either. The oven was especially dirty and smelled strongly, making it practically unusable. The closets were so dirty we couldn’t use them. Some furniture, including chairs and doors, was also in poor shape and wobbled or rattled.

We felt very comfortable at the Wendler family's house. The booking, check-in, communication, stay, and departure all went perfectly. Mrs. Wendler was competent, friendly, and accommodating, while discreetly taking care of things in the background. The modern furnishings were practical, and the kitchen and bathroom were always spotless. Guests can help themselves to coffee, beer, or snacks for a fee. The balcony room was a real treat. We were there in June, when a "sleeping tree" in the garden in front of the balcony was in full bloom, with what seemed like hundreds of insects buzzing around. In the evenings, its leaves curled up.
