Ferienhaus Lehen

We spent a lovely week at the Fegg family's holiday home, Lehen, in Maria Gern. It’s a great spot for quiet and relaxation, with beautiful views. The apartment has a balcony and terrace, a roomy bathroom, and a tiled stove that makes evenings in the living room cozy. Hiking trails start right outside, and Maria Gern, Berchtesgaden, and Königssee are easy to reach by car. The Fegg family has put so much care into the furnishings. Families are well catered for too, with sleds and other equipment available for children.

We felt more like guests than visitors, and the quiet at night was striking: no sounds of civilization or light pollution, just nature. We used the house as a base for five major mountain hikes, and each morning there was a leaflet in the mailbox with local events and tour suggestions. As a cake lover, I have to mention the freshly baked cake waiting in the kitchen. Inside, everything matched the online photos. From the living room, the tiled stove is on the right, an old painted farmhouse cupboard on the left, and the kitchen is in the adjoining room. We stepped straight onto the balcony and took in the mountains around Berchtesgaden, with Watzmann and the surrounding peaks off to the right. There was sparkling wine and two glasses on the table, so we opened the bottle and toasted the Fegg family, the house, and that view. Thank you!

Quiet, with a view of Watzmann, this detached house sits apart from the courtyard at 1,500 meters and has parking. It’s a great choice if you’re visiting the Berchtesgaden area and don’t want a hotel. We had our best holiday in Berchtesgaden here.

The hosts were very friendly, and the views were lovely, including a clear look at Watzmann. It’s a really nice holiday home, with plenty of room for children and a tiled stove.
