FeWo "Atelier Wenig" - Berchtesgaden Zentrum

The living room looks over a cemetery toward the mountains, and the bedroom faces the town center and its church. The bells didn’t bother us. It’s an upstairs apartment with no elevator, though the landlord offered to help carry things. There’s a rapid COVID-19 testing station around the corner in the spa gardens. Being right in the heart of town was great, with bakeries, ice cream shops, and restaurants all around. We also got a guest card, including half-price parking at trailheads, and a season ticket for the nearby Contipark underground garage, so parking was free. The hosts were friendly, the kitchen was well equipped, and the apartment looked just like the pictures. Small touches were covered too, from pods for the coffee machine, dishwasher, and washing machine to baking paper in the oven and bathrobes in the bathroom. The Wi-Fi was generally fast enough, but it wasn’t always available, especially in the bedroom. We couldn’t find a clothes drying rack either. The landlord will surely sort that out. We were the first tenants after the long lockdown in 2021.

A great base for fantastic hikes. The host deserves thanks for providing such a clean apartment with everything nicely furnished. Five stars, highly recommended.
