Villa Bello

The big picture window made the shared family area a lovely spot for meals, games, and reading, and the mountain view was amazing. We had three rooms for our group of six adults and five kids, including a family room on the terrace. Breakfast had plenty of choices, and everyone enjoyed the pool, sauna, and hot tub. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the price felt very reasonable. You can see the hotel is being updated little by little, so I imagine the older carpet in the common room may be replaced eventually. The only downside was some other guests being rude about the children playing a pool game for an hour, which wasn't the management's fault. It's family and pet friendly, and we'd definitely come back.

The receptionist was nice. A good family place, with an indoor pool and sauna.

The view of the Alps is one of the best I've seen, and this is such a peaceful, relaxed place to stay. It feels like you have a lovely large chalet to yourself, with comfortable rooms, a pool, and terraces and balconies with spectacular views. Breakfast was a fantastic buffet and included in the price. The hosts and staff gave us a warm welcome, and I think it's excellent value. I first came a year ago on my motorbike and wanted to bring my wife back. We'll return again. We ate twice at the reasonably priced restaurant 50m away at the Hotel next door, where the food and service were both great. On the third evening we drove 4 minutes to the hamlet below and had an excellent, good-value dinner at the Gasthof, with a terrace and mountain views. From there, and from the Villa Bello terrace, you can see the Kehlsteinhaus. From Villa Bello, look left to the ridge above. Our room was at the top of the house, with a lovely wooden balcony, wonderful views, and an immaculate bathroom. During the heatwave, at 31C, it was much warmer up there than on the lower floors. The fan only helped a little, and the room could use some refreshing, which is why I gave 4 stars. Even so, we'd happily stay in that same room again just as it is.

We loved unwinding in the small pool and sauna, and the staff even brought us wood for the fire so we could enjoy it with a glass of wine. Villa Bello has breathtaking Alpine views and our stay was amazing. The rooms were clean, though the facilities are a little old and still useful. The one small annoyance was a noisy toilet flush tank. It could be improved, but it didn't take away from the rest of the stay. I'd highly recommend it.
