The host was really friendly and even picked us up from the Bahnhof. We stayed in a neat little studio that suited a couple looking for a getaway in Rügen. It was lovely to have breakfast on the terrace in the sunshine, with the place decorated beautifully for Easter. The nearest bus stop is a 10-minute walk away, and the railway station is 20 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by cab. We'd definitely book here again when we come back.

The Wi-Fi was very good, and we liked having a small terrace to sit on. There was also car parking, and bicycles were allowed on the little terrace, though there was no proper bicycle storage. The place is called a studio, but it didn't feel like one. At first the landlord seemed friendly, but that impression didn't last. We paid cash on arrival, and it seemed the landlords were mainly interested in easy money. I'd advise checking the apartment before paying. The apartment is only about 18 square meters, roughly the size of a hotel room. It looks cozy at first, but it's impractical and dirty. There were cobwebs and dirt in the corners and under the radiator, including a big nest-like mess on the shelf by the TV. The bathroom had long hairs on the wall, dust and dirt all around, and limescale on the shower walls. The living area seemed to have been given only a superficial clean. The kitchen was packed with appliances and decorations, leaving no storage, worktop, or space for our groceries. It had dishes for 12 people despite being a two-person apartment, old mismatched cutlery, and lots of unnecessary things that seemed to have been dumped there. Appliances had to be shifted around, sometimes onto the floor or in and out of cupboards. The electrical outlet was dangerously close to the water, and my kettle base slipped into the sink because there was nowhere else to put it. Before washing dishes, we had to move appliances out of the way just to make room. There was no dishwasher, so cleanliness depended on the previous tenant. The pot lids didn't fit and kept sliding off, and the cutlery drawer was dirty. The shower head wouldn't stay in place and sprayed at the wall, so you couldn't stand under it. When I reported the problem as requested, the landlady claimed it had been repaired, refused to look, and told us to move out. She insulted us and cut off contact. When we said the apartment wasn't clean, she accused us of sticking long women's hair on the bathroom wall and making everything dirty in four days, again refusing to check. She wouldn't speak to us until we left and treated us like the worst tenants. After two days, the male landlord came and fixed the shower head a second time, but he was unfriendly. There's no bathroom storage for clothes, and towels longer than a meter can't be hung there without dragging on the dirty floor. We were told to hang them outside instead. The landlady even dictated when and how we should get dressed before and after showering so we could take towels outside at night. The fixtures and sink looked 20 years old, the toilet seat was damaged, and the mattresses kept slipping around. The apartment had to be ventilated constantly because it quickly got stuffy and damp, which the landlord also required. The patio door, the only entrance, had to remain open for enough airflow. There were no insect screens, so the windows had to stay closed at night. The exterior blinds also blocked the only escape route, which made me wonder if that was allowed. The high rating above 8 is beyond me. We can't recommend this holiday apartment at all.

The hosts were very nice. The studio is furnished beautifully, and we felt comfortable and well looked after from the moment we arrived.

There’s lots to see and do here, and it works well for families. It is a bit pricey, though.

A really nice landlady, great!
