Apartments am Brandenburger Tor

The apartment was comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully laid out. The trouble was everything around arriving and getting help. There was nowhere practical to stop the car while collecting the keys, and the nearby paid parking didn't really work for that. Parking was first offered in another building, a pain with luggage. By chance, at a different time, another employee told me there was parking next to my building and offered it straight away. They should check and offer that option in advance. Getting answers was also difficult. Messages were rarely answered and replies took a long time, making problems hard to sort out. The €200 deposit was another unpleasant issue. They said it was only blocked and would be released at noon on checkout day, but six days passed from when it was blocked/charged until it came back. I'd already left Berlin and called and messaged without a response. I even asked my concierge to contact them. They then said it had been returned, though it still wasn't showing in my account; a few hours later, the bank released it. They gave no clear supporting documents for the deposit. The apartment itself is good, but parking, check-in, communication, and deposit handling need serious improvement. It's up to you whether to book. I'd clarify those details beforehand, though it's hard to know how when they respond so poorly.

We were three friends, and I enjoyed staying there. The rooms were large, with clean bedding, decent pillows, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a balcony. The elevator doesn't go all the way, but the one short flight of stairs was manageable, even when we got home exhausted from work.

We had a really good time in Berlin and would definitely come back. With six of us, the apartment worked well, and its central location made exploring and getting around easy. There were some things to find on arrival: a half-empty beer bottle and cigarette butts on the balcony, plus more cigarette ends and a pack. The apartment showed some wear, and the walls could use a clean. Still, we enjoyed our stay.

We'd stayed in this apartment on other dates, and the place itself was fine. This time, by mistake, we made a reservation for different dates and contacted them right away to cancel. We also wrote through Booking.com. Neither our request nor Booking's message got a response, and they wouldn't approve the cancellation. A little flexibility and basic communication would have helped. In our case, the service felt disrespectful.
