I booked this for a work trip because I had business in the area. I suspect many of the bad reviews are about rooms with shared bathrooms. Mine was a fully private room, huge and spacious enough for three people, even though I was traveling alone. The bathroom, towels, and linens were clean. The mattress was okay, though I would've liked a firmer pillow. WiFi worked well. Breakfast was included, very basic but quite good. For the room price, the facilities were really good value. My only issue was the person at the counter during check-in, who came across as a bit rude and impatient. Otherwise, no complaints.

The area feels like a different side of Berlin, quiet and green, with lots of trees, beautiful old houses, and plenty of shops. It's outside the centre, but only a few minutes from a good S1 line. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and each has its own quirky, old-fashioned character. Breakfasts are substantial. It's budget accommodation, but charming and great value for money. What a gem.

The place is fairly close to public transport and downtown, but the owner was unbelievably horrible and disgusting. Her service was no good. DO NOT VISIT.

The WiFi was very good, breakfast was served generously, and the location worked well for my conference at Freie University. For an old hotel, it was okay and relatively affordable. But the receptionists were rude and grumpy, their English wasn't good, and communication was difficult. Our room wasn't cleaned at all for a whole week. The stairs were noisy and awkward if you had lots of bags to carry up.
