Apartments am Görlitzer Park

It might be a cute place, but I was approached by people trying to sell drugs six times in just ten minutes walking around nearby. I can only imagine how it gets at night. 🙅

What used to be an old train station is now one of Berlin’s biggest parks. And don’t think cannabis is the only plant growing there, there are lime trees, goosefoots, medicks, buglosses and yarrows too. A lovely place in the daytime.

I was there around midday on a weekday, and I wouldn’t want to come back late in the evening or at night. Most of the people sitting on benches were already tipsy. Drugs were being sold openly, with a brief pause when police passed through. Some sections were occupied by homeless people sleeping in tents, with rubbish left around. Calling this a “park” doesn’t really seem right.

Please don’t cut through this park at night just because your phone suggests it. Groups lurking in the dark are unsettling enough, and then I started getting followed. It felt very unsafe.
