The location made it easy to explore. I took a tram from the train station to Schwedter Strasse or Zionskirche, then walked about 10 minutes. Lidl is close, and Mitte or the Fernsehturm is roughly a 30-minute walk. The neighborhood is worth exploring too. I especially liked Kulturbrauerei, about 10 minutes away, with a cinema, concert hall, free museum, and probably plenty more. I loved the atmosphere there. The fourth floor room was quiet, and the kitchen and common room noise I heard was normal for a hostel and didn't bother me. The kitchen can get crowded at rush hour, but I could always use what I needed, and people were friendly. It's really well equipped. The staff were welcoming from the start, helpful with recommendations, and happy to chat. I didn't go to the events, but they organized them and made it clear I could join. My first solo trip went well, and I felt everything at the hostel was taken care of. I'd stay here again when I come back to Berlin. I booked a solo room because it was my first time traveling alone and I wanted extra quiet. It was on the fourth floor, big, and had a double bed plus a single, more than I expected. All the outlets worked, although a few were a bit wonky. There was an odd smell that I blamed on the oil diffusser, which looked fancy. I stopped noticing it after a couple of minutes and didn't feel bothered enough to ask about it. The big window was lovely for waking up to natural light, though you'll want an eye mask if you don't like that. The mattress was thinner than I'm used to at home, but I slept really well. I hadn't found room-lock information online, but the key card worked every time. The bathroom on that floor was really nice. Its shower stall closes fully, giving you space to get changed and leave your clothes before stepping into the shower. I was worried there'd be nowhere private to change, but there was plenty of room. I can't say what the bathrooms on other floors are like. I'm glad my first solo trip worked out. There is still so much for me to explore in Berlin, and I'll stay here again.

They gave me a four-bed room for the price of the 10-women dorm I had booked, which was a great surprise. The staff at EastSeven Hostel were friendly, helpful, and organized. The bunks felt stable, with comfy mattresses and clean, warm sheets. Bathrooms were clean, and the shower had hot water and good pressure. Breakfast was included in the fair price: the stylish, comfortable breakfast area had tasty coffee and tea, plus cornflakes. I also loved having free cold sparkling water. Thanks to the EastSeven Hostel team, you do a great job!

People were so friendly that I found myself meeting travelers from all over the world without making any effort. The staff kept in touch with everyone each day, and the social atmosphere brought people together naturally. I was only there for a weekend, but the hostel felt peaceful and welcoming from the moment I arrived. Cleanliness seemed to be at a pretty good level too. I wish there were more places like this.

I spent three nights at EastSeven in February, and the people there really made the stay. Georgia at reception and Jack the vollie were both warm and helpful, and made me feel at home as soon as I checked in. The common areas were cozy even in winter, and the kitchen was one of the best equipped I've seen in a hostel. The place was very clean. Prenzlauer Berg is a beautiful historic neighborhood, with striking architecture and a moody, cinematic feel that was great for photography walks. There are some of the city's best local food spots nearby, and Mauerpark Flohmarkt is only a few minutes on foot. I'd recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Berlin.

The bunk beds were comfortable, with easy-to-reach plugs and a place to hang coats for each bunk. Reception was friendly and straightforward, and cleaners came every day. I liked having several places to hang out, including the kitchen, dining area, movie room, and outdoor patio, although the weather kept me from using the patio. There aren't privacy curtains. Laundry cost 14 €, and they did it for you, which was convenient, but there were also decent laundromats within a 10-minute walk.
