Garner Hotel Berlin Ku´Damm by IHG

There was no real service here, and the staff were extremely rude. The person at reception spoke neither German nor English, so it was nearly impossible to communicate. They also treated guests with an obviously unpleasant attitude. This is a hotel I would never want to visit again.

The staff were nice, and both the bed and breakfast were fine. But a broken lift made getting to our room on the 7th floor a terrible combination. There were no curtains to cover the window at night, either. Bring slippers.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the hotel seemed recently renovated. It’s in a quiet part of Berlin, which I liked. Parking is on the streets outside, though, so you might have trouble finding a spot. The pillows were a little too tall for me.

We slept well: the bed was comfortable, the nights were quiet, and the shower and toilet both worked fine. The staff were friendly, and the hotel is handy for public transport, bakeries, restaurants, and supermarkets. Looking back, the price for what we got seemed reasonable, though with so many other Berlin hotels, I probably wouldn’t come back. We booked two rooms, and neither had towels. We had to ask reception for them, and housekeeping still didn’t have towels available during cleaning. Cleaning between 3:30 and 4:00 p.m. was also very late, and the housekeeping could have been much better. The room looked modern and was in good condition, but it was smaller than advertised and cramped for two people. It was hard to move around comfortably, and the elevator was very small.
