Hotel Arrival Berlin

Parking is included, and the central location is great. Breakfast was good, and the food was okay. The room smelled strange and looked worse than the pictures. It wasn't exactly dirty, but the cleaning could have been better.

The WiFi worked best in rooms nearer the stairs, so keep that in mind when choosing one. I stayed for a month and was never woken by towel deliveries, despite someone mentioning that they'd been bothered by early morning deliveries. The staff were really friendly and my room was always clean. Breakfast had limited choices, but I could always find something I liked and change things up over the month without getting tired of the same food. I loved the interior. It's old-fashioned, but in a lovely way, with each floor decorated around a kind of transport, like trains or boats. I came back the following year and would definitely stay again if I'm in Berlin.

The room has the basics, a bed, a table, and a bathroom, and the beds are pretty comfortable. My shower was great, with lots of water pressure. The location is decent, about a 15-minute underground ride to central Berlin. Breakfast was disappointing to me: cheese, cold cuts, bread, yogurt, a few random vegetables, coffee, and tea. For what you get, it's way overpriced.

The receptionist was really nice and helpful, and the hotel has two big advantages: it's relatively cheap and close to KaDeWe. My room was on the first floor, with windows facing the street, and it was very loud. That could be a problem in summer since there's no air conditioning. The sheets and pillows were clean and in good shape. The flat-screen TV was quite old and had maybe 12 channels, though I'd rather watch Berlin anyway. The bathroom was the worst part. The toilet wasn't properly fixed to the floor and shifted when I sat down or stood up. The light above the mirror didn't work, making it hard to shave using only the ceiling light or the one-sided light from the window. One side of the hand shower holder had come away from the wall, and the sink drain probably hadn't been cleaned in a long time. There was no door hanger to say I didn't want the room cleaned or to ask for privacy.
