Getting into the city was easy, and Lidl and Aldi are both about a five-minute walk away. The staff were very polite, but seemed overworked. They printed our Berlin welcome card, which I appreciated. Still, our beds and towels were never changed. Breakfast was extremely limited, with boiled eggs as the only hot food, and the bananas were blackish while the apples were wrinkled. It didn't seem worth €10, more like €5. We also had no Wi-Fi during our Monday-to-Friday stay, even though the office internet worked. The receptionist, who also cleaned, made beds and worked in the kitchen, apparently spoke to the boss, who said he'd fix it, but it never got fixed.

A friendly welcome at reception, and the hotel isn't far from a bus stop. It's quite a distance from central Berlin, but works well if you're after a quiet, peaceful area.

They even asked Booking.com to cancel the new reservations I'd made to extend my stay, then forced me out while threatening violence. I hadn't done anything wrong during my time at the hotel.

The rooms were clean and reasonably priced, and the Wi-Fi was good. But they were noisy, with paper-thin doors that made hallway conversations easy to hear. I'd called ahead to request an accessible ground-floor room, yet was given a room on the second floor with stairs only. Great for wheelchair users.

We found the staff pleasant and the beds clean. It's a basic hotel, but the bus stop nearby connects with the S5 and U5, and if you time it right, Alexanderplatz is about 20-25 minutes away. It's out in the eastern suburbs, so you'll need public transport, but that worked fine for us and we'd stay again. We booked because other places were full. The one thing it could use is air-conditioning.
