Wilde Aparthotels Checkpoint Charlie Berlin

We had a long weekend there recently and would definitely recommend it. The room was extremely well equipped and very clean. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and they made our stay memorable. The location was a bonus, with transport nearby and lots of sights and restaurants an easy walk away. We look forward to coming back soon.

The staff were friendly and cool, and the lobby has snacks, drinks, and a small café with nice food and drinks. The hotel is well kept, with nice, spacious apartment-style rooms. Ours had a kitchenette, dining table, couch, coffee machine, TV, and other things, all to a nice standard. It’s very close to Checkpoint Charlie and Friedrichstraße. There isn’t much to do around here that isn’t super touristy, and most of the food places nearby are crap.

Inanna GmbH has been a loyal corporate client since 2025, and the current stay has now gone on for more than three months. After months of negotiation, both parties signed and approved an agreement with clear terms, recorded in writing and verbally: our American Express card was only to serve as a guarantee, holding an amount to reserve the booking, never as a payment method. Even so, the card was charged without our prior consent, which directly breached the agreement. The charge covered more nights than we actually stayed, so the amount taken was higher than the cost of the real stay. This happened despite written confirmation that the booking ended on the correct date and that any charge would be made only at check-out. For a long-standing corporate client, this is a serious failure. A card held as a guarantee does not authorize a charge, and an agreement signed by both sides should be honored. In our view, a business that overlooks this does not yet understand corporate clients or the value of a long-term relationship and its lifetime value. We are pursuing the matter through American Express as an unauthorized transaction.

The Wilde staff were always attentive and courteous, a real credit to the brand. Our room had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable self-catering stay. It was a fantastic hotel in a perfect spot for exploring Berlin, with Checkpoint Charlie, which is very commercialised, and the thought provoking Topography of Terror just a short walk away. I’d highly recommend it.
