The lake and mountain views from the hotel and restaurant are beautiful. Our room was clean, and the staff were kind and very helpful. They put on a New Year's Eve buffet and even arranged fireworks.

Three days after staying here, my husband developed over 400 bites and I had more than 50, including on our faces. The reaction took a few days to appear, which is common. During our June 19-22 stay in room 13, we had noticed two brownish streaks on the bedding and pillows, but didn't investigate them. We later learned these were clear signs of bed bugs. Everything pointed to the infestation starting at this hotel. There was no evidence in our apartment, and the sheer number of bites suggests a serious infestation that would be impossible for us to have brought on our bodies. Sorry for the unpleasant details. After I emailed, the hotel confirmed there was an infestation in our room, then accused us of bringing the bugs. We were never bitten again after returning home, as of November 2025. I first contacted the hotel by email on June 26. On June 28, they asked us to cover their bill, without even one apology. This was appalling. We're paying to have our apartment fumigated in case any bugs came home with us. On top of that, we've had sleepless nights, stress and uncertainty about whether our home was infested, treatment creams, and the discomfort of the bites. I understand that these things can happen, but the hotel's disrespectful response and refusal to take responsibility are inexcusable. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. This lakeside hotel cleans rooms only three times a week. Our room wasn't cleaned until the last day, not daily. Photos of the bites are included as evidence. In Germany, businesses can get bad reviews removed quite easily, so I hope this one stays public. I'll update or remove it if the hotel responds appropriately. Update, November 2025: The hotel never apologized and kept saying we might have been at fault. We deep cleaned and fumigated our apartment, but found no evidence of bugs and had no bites after returning. I've since seen other reviews raising cleanliness concerns. Don't overlook them as I did. The lake is beautiful, but find somewhere else to stay.

An emergency meant we had to leave a day before checkout to catch our flight, and the hotel asked us to pay a €100 penalty. Half an hour later the flight was canceled. When we called back, they wouldn't give us our room again.

We stopped in for a meal, and the food was amazingly good. The French fries might be the best I've ever had, which really surprised me. The staff were polite and professional, and the owner was exceptionally warm and outgoing. It's a cozy restaurant at the foot of one of Germany's most notable mountains. If you're nearby, give it a try.
