The location by Gendarmenmarkt is hard to beat, with lots of restaurants just a few doors away. Our room was comfortable, and the cathedral view was beautiful, especially lit up at night. Breakfast was good, with eggs made to order, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Sebastian at breakfast for making our mornings even nicer. Check-in was lovely too. There was comfortable seating at reception and a glass of champagne to start our four-night stay, a wonderful touch. My only suggestion is to use real flowers or plants instead of plastic ones, which would suit the hotel’s lovely atmosphere better. I’d happily recommend staying here when visiting the city.

We didn’t eat at the hotel because €29 seemed steep for breakfast, but the bar made great cocktails. The rooms were lovely and fairly spacious for a big city. It’s well placed for walking around Berlin, with most tourist sights within a 20-minute walk. The place felt a bit soulless, though we didn’t spend much time there. We stayed three nights.

The service was fantastic everywhere, from the front desk and housekeeping to the restaurant and bar, and the room was impeccably clean. I had a comfortable, stylish, roomy corner suite. The hotel is in a great spot in Mitte, close to U-Bahn and S-Bahn stops, restaurants, and several landmarks. It’ll be my first choice when I’m back in Berlin.

The room and service were amazing, and the infrastructure, furniture, lighting, bedclothes, bathroom, and cleaning were all impeccable. I’m a Marriott Bonvoy member. Breakfast was the one letdown. The photos didn’t match what we got, and for a five-star hotel at that price, we expected more flavor and variety. The bread was simple, there was only one sweet option, and just one natural juice, among other things.

The cleaning staff were the best part, super friendly, and the gym was nice, with a separate yoga room on the top floor. But I had a bad experience even as a Gold card member of the group. The hotel itself is nice, yet the overall stay didn’t feel anywhere near five-star, and left me feeling I’d never come back. Breakfast had no real coffee, just machine coffee, and lots of things were already empty by 9:30. I wouldn’t recommend it.
