Hotel Morgenland

The kind receptionist was the only positive for me. The room was really loud, especially with cars passing on the street. Other guests were noisy too, particularly when shutting doors. The room felt old and outdated, with a small mounted TV that didn’t work, an old bed, and a very old chair. The bed comfort was OK. There was also a strange-looking man behind reception, staring at people from his room without smiling. It’s a very odd place. I’d definitely advise staying somewhere else. I don’t think this building deserves to be called a hotel.

Hotel Morgenland is in the quiet Berlin neighborhood of Lichterfelde Oos. Shops are nearby, reached by bus after a short walk from the hotel. There’s also a family-run falafel shop on the corner, a must! I was greeted so warmly and helpfully, and someone promptly carried my heavy suitcase upstairs. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty to choose from: cereals and grains, yogurt, fresh fruit, jams, cheese, cold cuts, bread and rolls, different coffees, and creamer. I’d stay again if I get the chance to visit Berlin.

The hotel is great overall, and I liked the old, pretty rooms. It was nice and quiet, though it’s a long way from the main, lively part of the city, so whether the location suits you depends on what you prefer. They also employ a lot of handicapped people, which is nice. Location was the only downside for me.

A cozy, very nice place. The doors are noisy when you open, close, lock, or unlock them, and rude guests make it worse at night.
