Hotel Parkidyll

The check-in staff member was EXTREMELY helpful, and the tram right outside takes you to Berlin Center in under 20 minutes. The neighborhood looked sketchy and old at first, but I found it relatively safe, and it’s a cute part of town without tourists. The hotel itself has seen better days. It’s an old building, I saw no elevator, and the rooms were very small. Planes flew overhead constantly from about 0500 to 2200 as they landed at Berlin Tegel. My friend had a single room and I got a double because I’m tall and athletically built and wanted extra space, but the rooms turned out to be the same size, so I paid more for nothing. The beds were uncomfortable and came with only one pillow, and I could barely fit in the shower. On the second two nights, I didn’t get a body towel after showering. The location put me off at first, until I noticed the tram station. For what I paid, I think another $20 on the total would have got us somewhere much nicer. I’m not knocking the building or the people who work there, but I don’t think it was worth it.
