Grünau Hotel

The two barmen were friendly, pleasant, and polite, but the service from the cook and another staff member was rude and arrogant. We were told dinner would be at 7 PM; by 7:25, after we'd had the salad starter, the food had run out. They shrugged and said there was no more, with no apology or offer of anything else. There was no customer service at all. I was staying with a coach group of 27 this September 2023. First impressions had been good, but the room was hot and had no air conditioning. We had to leave the windows open, and noise from drunk people in the beer garden kept me awake until 2 AM. It was a very unpleasant stay, and I wouldn't advise staying here.

Reception were nice, but the kitchen staff were rude. They ran out of food, leaving one person in our group without a meal, and another person was rudely told to move after sitting at the wrong table. The room was really hot with no air conditioning. I got a fan from reception, but with the window open all I could hear was drunk people outside until 2 AM. Not impressed.

The staff were really friendly, which made the stay much more enjoyable. Sitting in the room and looking out over the wooded area felt peaceful, and the food was excellent. The bathroom was modern and, more importantly, clean. With the windows open, you can hear some aircraft from one of Berlin's airports and trains from the nearby railway. It didn't bother me, though, and I slept really well.

Find somewhere else. For the price, this is a very basic hotel that needs updating. There's no refrigerator or iron, no ventilation, and NO AIR CONDITIONING. Leaving the window open for air just lets bugs in, and the green area doesn't bring a breeze. There are no desk staff after 2100hrs, so hope you don't need anything. I'd wanted to stay at Pentahotel (now hotel berlin), but it was booked, so I had to settle for this dump.
