INNSiDE by Meliá Berlin Mitte

Julio checked us in and was wonderful. We arrived before check-in, and he found a place for our bags. He was friendly and helpful with recommendations, as were all the staff we dealt with. The hotel is in an amazing location, and the lobby has a really nice bar and restaurant. I'd highly recommend it to anyone staying in Berlin. We were given two single beds instead of a double, but we hadn't specifically requested a double, so I can't really complain.

The rooms were spacious, with a great bathroom and a good selection of complimentary minibar drinks that were replenished each day. The hotel was clean and nicely decorated, with entertainment options, a very good bar and restaurant, and an excellent breakfast with lots of variety and plenty to eat. It's also well located near the central station, with plenty of local transport nearby. We had an excellent stay!

It's been a month and a half, and I still haven't received the refund for the breakfast we cancelled. Breakfast wasn't part of our original booking, so we ordered it at the desk, then changed our minds a few hours later because we'd rather eat out. We were told cancelling was fine and the cost would be refunded. I've called the desk four times since to ask what's happening. Each time I've been told the money would be refunded, was already on its way, or that someone would contact me. Nobody has followed up. We only stayed one night.

We emailed before our Christmas trip with the children to ask about activities and somewhere to eat, and the staff sent helpful advice. When we arrived around 11 p.m., the friendly team made sure we and our two young boys had everything we needed. Our family room was large and clean. The complimentary minibar was kindly restocked, the room was cleaned daily when requested, and shower soaps and the other basics were provided. The hotel is very close to U-Bahn services that can take you anywhere in Berlin. The lobby is huge, with a separate lounge area, family and board games, pool, foosball, and more. We ate at the restaurant and found both the food and staff excellent. We also spent most evenings at the bar after exploring Berlin. The beer was great, and the staff were friendly and spoke English. One member of the restaurant and bar team was especially kind to our boy Tommy and even wrote him a thank-you card. We'd like to thank him, and hope he sees this. Thanks, iNNSIDE, for making our family trip so easy. We'll definitely come back when we're in Berlin again.
