Berlin Marriott Hotel

The pool and gym were welcome breaks during a busy work trip. We also had a really nice lounge experience, with attentive, fantastic service from Nadia and especially Louise. Tesse at the front desk was helpful, and the concierge was always keen to assist. Great location, too, and the rooms are comfortable with a modern feel.

The location is good, the hotel looks modern, and the price was decent. My stay was okay, but I’m not sure I’d come back without improvements. The rooms are spacious and have the usual basics, though the lighting is frustrating: one switch controls everything, so it’s all on or all off. The tub is also a safety concern. I nearly slipped several times getting in and out to shower, and there are no grab handles. Cleanliness was a letdown. There was dust, and I wasn’t confident the towels or sheets were being cleaned thoroughly or changed each day. Breakfast was alright, but with so few staff for a full crowd, we waited quite a while. They seemed more focused on setting the tables than serving people. Service in general was uneven, perhaps because they seemed short-staffed, and the person at check-in was rude. The revolving door wasn't for me either.

The rooms are large and the staff are nice. Breakfast has a good selection, although the coffee wasn't great. The machine doesn't make espresso. The bathroom was the weak point: getting into the shower is awkward, and there’s a doorstop right in the middle of the way that’s easy to trip over.

Our large family of six, including four kids, was given adjoining rooms, and the Marriott team went above and beyond to make that happen. Nicole Fuchs also helped make the visit memorable. The Christmas decorations were lovely, and we enjoyed the pool, sauna, infrared treatment rooms, and an amazing breakfast. The location is hard to beat, with plenty of restaurants nearby and Berlin's sights close at hand. We had a fantastic stay and highly recommend it.
