MEININGER Hotel Berlin East Side Gallery

Getting around the city was easy since the hotel is next to a public transport hub. We had a separate room with a secure entrance to the living area, and it was clean. The bedsheets really were silky smooth. The bathroom was nicely lit and had heated flooring. Our windows faced a busy street but kept most of the sound out. I only heard the occasional ambulance siren passing right beside us. I was very happy with my stay.

The train station is just a two-minute walk away, handy if you’re coming from the airport. We picked this hotel for a concert at Uber Eats Music Hall because it’s so close to the venue. The room was small, but the bed was comfortable, breakfast was great, and the crew were lovely. The price was very reasonable, making it a good spot for a few nights in Berlin.

The breakfast was fresh, varied, and a great start to the day, and the elevator was much faster and roomier than I expected. I liked the hotel’s modern, stylish design, and the location near Berlin’s East Side Gallery. The room was quite small, though. Getting up to the top bunk felt awkward and unsafe, while the lower bunk could use more space above it. It’s also close to the main station, which is really convenient for an early train.

The woman working mornings was lovely, always smiling and asking what kind of milk I wanted. That felt like proper service. The hotel is reasonably priced, in a good location, and has a kitchen for cooking. But my stay was RUINED by the man who works at the bar in the evenings. I went to buy a coffee after it opened at 16:30, as the sign said, and he shoved the sign in my face. I understand that people need breaks, but the aggression ruined things for me. It may sound silly, but going in for a coffee when the café is open and having a sign thrust at me like I’m a nuisance was a horrible experience.
