NH Collection Berlin Mitte Am Checkpoint Charlie

I loved the two bear figures outside, they look like they're there to welcome you. The hotel is clean and inviting, with friendly staff. Our room had a comfortable bed, a good-sized bathroom with a shower, and air conditioning. There was also a TV, fridge, hairdryer, kettle, and safe.

The location worked really well, close to the subway and just a short walk from Checkpoint Charlie. Our room was bright and spacious, with a large bed, and the friendly staff and excellent breakfast in a huge dining area made for a comfortable stay over New Year. One of the two elevators was out of service, so waiting for the single working one was inconvenient. We stayed on a high floor and had to take the stairs on some days, which was a bit of a challenge.

We found the app useful, especially for ordering extra amenities to the room, and breakfast was perfect, with lots of fresh options. The room was a good size, tidy and clean, with a comfortable bed and a good temperature. There was a little traffic noise through the window, but not much given the location. We stayed for three nights and had a great time. We'd come back.

Philipp, the guest relations manager, was fantastic. He helped us with transport tickets and ideas for things to see and do, and was always available. I had a birthday during the stay and got a thoughtful, unexpected gift. The staff were all friendly and nothing felt like a problem. When our first room overlooking the street had too much traffic noise, reception moved us to a much quieter room with a courtyard view after I went to ask for earplugs. The hotel itself is beautiful, with spotless, comfortable rooms and a lovely bar and restaurant, good food, and a piano player in the evenings. The location was perfect for exploring the city. Couldn't have asked for a better stay, and I'd book again without hesitation.
