Park - Aqua Dom Sea Life Berlin

The place was spotless, and I had a great time moving through the different sections with their relaxing music. I’m giving it four stars because I noticed staff explaining things to guests in two separate areas, but nobody asked me if I wanted to join. Keep it up, guys!

It’s a smaller aquarium, but there are plenty of interesting tanks and exhibits to explore and learn from. Kids should have a great time. We were done in about an hour, though you could easily spend a few hours reading everything and trying the little games. I also liked seeing the focus on conservation and cleaning up the environment. A fun little family attraction to add to a Berlin trip.

There’s a good amount of information about fish for younger visitors, along with interactive missions and a treasure hunt. The exhibition itself is great. The Aqua Dome elevator ride is okay, but not remotely breathtaking. It’s just an extension of the nearby Radison Hotel and a short ride up. The main problem was the other visitors and their kids, who were mostly screaming and hitting the windows. If you’re using the Berlin card, skip the online reservation or you won’t get the reduced price. Reserve a time slot and pay there instead.

The staff were really friendly, and there were lots of exhibits with different creatures. I spent the most time in the Atlantic ocean section, with its tunnel and curved windows where you can put your head right into the tank. We came especially to see the sharks being fed, but it was disappointing. They just tossed a bit of food at the other side of the tank from where we were told to stand. The gift shop is great, with lots of small, inexpensive items. You can also get a free slushy for completing a feedback survey, which is a great idea. The slushy was nice, too.
