The location made this especially convenient: the tram stop, coffee shops, and a grocery store were just two blocks away. On Tuesday morning there was also a small farmers market at Antonplatz. Check-in was easy, and the rooms were clean and spacious. The decor was dated, but we didn't mind. For a similar price, we could only find a hostel, and that wasn't what we wanted. I was a little uneasy after reading the bad reviews, but this turned out to be just what we expected. If you need service around the clock, lots of amenities, or a modern hotel, you can find those elsewhere for more money. We just wanted somewhere clean and comfortable to sleep while traveling, and this suited us well.

I enjoyed the calm, simple feel of the place. The welcome was friendly, and the pension sits in a quiet part of the street, tucked into a courtyard. The interior isn't modern, but I liked the East German style curtains, and even found the bathroom charming. If you want luxury and everything up to date, look elsewhere. If simplicity and peace in a well connected neighbourhood suit you, this is a good choice.
