Pension ABC

The room felt worn out, with awkward sloping ceilings and a strange smell once the sprayed fragrance wore off. It was fine for sleeping, but not somewhere I'd want to relax. The neighborhood itself is quiet and well placed, with the U-Bahn and S-Bahn still close by.

The location was the one good thing, since it made it easy to get to most places in Berlin. The rest of our stay was awful. My mum and I stayed here a while ago and were really unimpressed. Our room smelled strange as soon as we walked in. The sheets were stained and dirty, the bathroom stank and had mold everywhere, and there was barely any wifi. The floor was very dusty, with a large hole in the floorboards. We raised the problems several times with the woman and man at the front desk, but they weren't much help and told us to call the owner. He wasn't helpful either. We'd booked three nights and were willing to pay for one, but wanted the other two refunded. He immediately refused and said we had to pay for two nights even though we'd only stayed one so far. He was very rude. The next day, while we were on the phone with him again, he said he'd come by. He'd initially said 20 minutes, but took over an hour. After looking at the room, he called it a bit dirty, asked what we expected, which was a clean room, and said our standards were too high. Breakfast was old, stale, plain, and gross. DO NOT COME HERE. This place was a sh1thole.

For 10 EUR, you can get private parking in the yard for 24 hours. The location is great and the breakfast is very good. It's a pension, so don't expect too much, but for the small amount of money you pay, you get great value.

The room was clean, and getting to the city center was convenient. Room service wasn't good, though: they made my bed each day but didn't clean the room. At check-in, they told me toiletries and one towel were provided every 3 days of the stay, so I didn't get a fresh towel or more toiletries before then.
