Pension Prenzlberg

The location was perfect, but the pension itself fell short. We had to make our own beds, and we ran out of toilet paper several times. Once we managed to get more, but the other times it happened at night. The wifi was pretty poor, too. The room looked clean, though every so often a sewage smell would show up.

The area is really nice and close to the tram, but I wouldn’t recommend the pension. The room was spacious, and the regular bed was very comfortable, but one bed advertised as a double was actually a pull-out couch and much less comfortable to sleep on. It was also poorly cleaned, with a spider web, and the pension doesn’t provide toiletries, which seems pretty cheap to me. Most of the staff were quite rude and hard to reach. When we arrived a little before check-in, a man with glasses rudely told us we couldn’t leave our bags there, even though that’s almost always possible. The wifi was very slow and the TV didn’t work. I think you could find much nicer hotels for a similar price. I’d look for somewhere else to stay in prenzlauer Berg.

We stayed for about 10 nights and had a really nice time. The staff were friendly, professional, clean and organized, and they even called to ask when we’d be arriving. The internet was good and the coffee was great. Breakfast wasn’t available because of the pandemic, but there were plenty of places to eat nearby. M2 and M10 are just around the corner, and the supermarket is about 10 minutes away. We’re planning to stay here again on our next visit.

The rooms are nice, and the location is handy for public transport. Staff were friendly, though not everyone speaks English, so keep that in mind. They only take cash, and you’ll need to bring your own shampoo.
