White House Bochum Ehrenfeld

We ended up having to book another room at the last minute, and lost the money we'd paid to booking and the owner. The owner insisted we pay an extra €70 in cash on arrival or we couldn't enter his appartement. We had booked through booking, and when we checked with them, they said everything was paid and there was no extra amount due. We contacted the owner again with that information, but he still demanded the €70, so we refused to pay it for nothing. Please look out for this cheater. We called the police, but they couldn't do anything for us.

I was exhausted and had nowhere else to go, so I paid the €70 they demanded, even though my reservation was already paid and listed only a 20 euro cleaning fee. It started with me waiting over an hour outside the building at the agreed time. After I'd waited half that time, the owner said he'd gone to a completely different address. He sent his brother with the keys, and the brother then asked for 70 euros for some new kind of taxes. The explanation was that I should pay now and sort it out later with the owner, his brother, who supposedly managed everything and would explain. The next day I messaged the owner, who said he was actually the brother and gave me another number. I wrote to that number too, but neither number ever replied again. I can't tell whether there really was another brother or whether it was the same person all along, but this role play seems part of their fraud to get more money and disappear.

We had a terrific stay, and the host was so kind that we felt right at home. Greetings from the Netherlands!

It was cheap and easy to stay here. The 10 am checkout is a little early, though.
