Waldhorn Hotel

The food was really delicious, and the service was very polite. The restaurant is nicely and elegantly decorated, with plenty of space. The one downside was the wait: our meals took over an hour, even though the place wasn't very crowded.

If you enjoy traditional Schwäbisch food made with care, I'd highly recommend ordering takeout from Hotel Waldhorn. The food is excellent, and the service is friendly and professional. Their online ordering is thoughtfully designed and efficient. During Covid, ordering through the modern website was a great experience, with text and email updates when the food was ready for pickup. The owner and staff speak English. They don't accept credit cards, though, only German Bank EC Card and Euro Cash.

Breakfast was simple and just right with coffee, juice, or tea: bread, meat and cheese, boiled eggs, a basic caprese, cucumber, cereal, and yogurt. My favorite room feature was the shower, with both a handheld nozzle and a rainfall head, and the water got hot. The room looked recently updated and well maintained. My single room used all the space, but there was still plenty of storage and hanging space. It had a small fridge stocked with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, which I hadn't seen listed when I booked, so that was a nice bonus. I brought my own pillow because I find hotel pillows tend to be flat, but the duvet was very comfortable. The room was warm, and without temperature controls I slept with the window open each night. I'd definitely return!

The restaurant food is superb and well worth trying. Staff are very friendly, and the rooms are modern and clean. The hotel is near a main road, but it's quiet and easy to get to. There isn't a lift.
