Paulsen's Landhotel und Restaurant

I stayed there on 21.06.2022 and had a good experience with the hotel: friendly, helpful staff, a nice atmosphere and neighborhood, and a clean, pleasant room. The bathroom faucet and shower were a little old, though, and there was still some hair in the bathroom from the previous guest. The restaurant was a different story. The food deserves three stars, but after the waitress showed me to my seat, I waited 20 minutes for her to take my order. She came through the dining room a few times without looking my way, and I had to call her over. After the meal, I asked another waiter for the bill without saying how I’d pay. When I said I wanted to use a card, he insisted I’d said cash and that he’d entered cash on the bill and in the computer. He said the bill could be changed, but that I had to pay cash. Only after I told him to change it or call his boss did he agree to change it.

I was there for a wedding in July 2023, and the food and service were amazing. All the irons were in use when I needed to press a shirt, so they ironed it for me themselves. They really went above and beyond.

The rooms are modern, spacious and very nice, and most of the staff were nice too. The restaurant food is really tasty. It isn’t the cheapest, but the quality fits the price. The ice cream with fig sauce is delicious!

We had a great meal, with plenty of local produce, and the staff were friendly and very attentive to everything we needed for our baby boy. It’s a stylish farmhouse in a small village in picturesque Nord-Friesland, near the Unesco world heritage site of vadehavet. The surroundings are child-friendly too.
