NH Collection München Bavaria

The breakfast team was a real bright spot during our five nights at NH Collection München. The selection was excellent, and the staff were consistently welcoming, attentive, friendly, and helpful. The location was another major plus: the Luhthansa Express bus makes the airport easy to reach, and trains, trams, the U-Bahn, and walking are all convenient ways to get around Munich. Our dealings with reception were much less consistent. We arrived early and paid €59 for early check-in, with the understanding that our second room would be ready later and we'd only need to collect the keys. But when we came back that afternoon, we had to repeat registration for the second room. The rooms also weren't next to each other, despite what we'd expected after paying for the early room and being told the other one was being prepared. It wasn't a major problem on its own, but the process felt disorganized. The most upsetting exchange was on Friday, 5 June, at about 17:30. We asked at the desk for cotton buds (Q-tips), which aren't kept in the room and have to be requested through the QR code or reception. The woman on duty, who wore glasses, kept saying she didn't know what “cotton buds” were. We'd already received them earlier from her colleagues in the hotel's vanity kit, and the kit itself labels them “cotton buds.” When I explained that, she seemed irritated and said she'd “see if there is one inside.” She then checked the box to see whether my account was true. I attached a photo of the hotel's own vanity kit with this review. The problem wasn't just getting a basic item. Her dismissive response suggested she didn't know the hotel's amenities and wasn't willing to help. It left us feeling unwelcome and, frankly, treated differently. I can't know why, but the interaction was uncomfortable and disappointing. NH Collection München has a great location and an excellent breakfast team, but reception fell well below what I'd expect from a hotel in this category. Better training, clearer communication, and a more guest-focused approach there would improve the stay.

A stylish, modern hotel in a perfect location. Our room was very clean, the service was excellent, and breakfast had a generous range of choices. They even set out tea and a teapot for Asian guests, a thoughtful gesture. I'd recommend it for both business and leisure trips.

We slept like babies every night. The room was spacious and the bed so comfortable, though the toilet felt small compared with the room. We were on the second floor beside the main station, with people walking by and cars passing, but the noise was still relatively okay. The location was great: the airport bus dropped us almost right outside, and there were plenty of places to eat and a drugstore nearby. Breakfast was great too. Requests for amenities took quite a while, but they did arrive eventually.

We had breakfast here on Mother's Day, and Gigi made it a wonderful morning for my wife and family. As Guest Relation Manager, she was attentive, helpful, and incredibly kind. The hotel's location is great and the service was excellent throughout, including from the friendly, welcoming reception staff. We're already looking forward to coming back.
